About the role:

We are searching for a passionate Engineering Supervisor with a sound leadership presence, solid project management skills, strong work ethic, an engaging style and impeccable organizational skills that will be put to good use within a high volume and high quality operation.

Reporting to the Engineering managers, you will oversee a team of Engineering and painter specialists responsible for all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities.

 

What you will do:

·         Supervision of all engineering works necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and employees.

·         Oversee the smooth day to day operation of the Engineering department, ensuring 24 hour manning of the property.

·         Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with contractors and suppliers who will furnish reliable 24 hour emergency service as necessary.

·         Ensure proper execution of work order systems and that items are followed up on for completion.

·         Handling the purchasing of equipment, replacement parts and repairs, maintaining stock levels, including liaising with vendors and suppliers.

·         Work cohesively with Housekeeping to maintain our guest rooms to the highest levels of quality and functionality.

What you will bring:

·         Proven experience in engineering, preferably within a large hotel that delivers five star quality.

·         Mechanical/Electrical experience is required.

·         The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels, across all areas, including contractors, suppliers, guests and of course our employees.

·         A passion for providing a great guest experience and impeccable product.

·         Solid verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

·         Strong project management skills and exceptional organisational skills.

Say farewell to the ordinary, and hello to the extraordinary! Job Description What you’ll do We are looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join the opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the equipment and all aspects related to preventive and corrective maintenance of all areas of the hotel (pool, common areas, kitchens, rooms, etc.): Supervise and provide constructive feedback to all team members to ensure safe work practices, efficient operation, proper preventive maintenance and equipment repair practices, efficient operation, proper preventative maintenance, and repair to equipment. Assist in the preparation of consumption reports on power, water, steam, and gas. Ensure that maintenance & repairs performed by contractors are executed in accordance with agreed health and safety policy, contracts, fees or charges. Perform maintenance as necessary. Train and supervise the maintenance team. Attend all types of repair and maintenance work on hotel facilities. Participate in the hotel's energy conservation program. Respond to all requests for work, repairs and maintenance work. Look for any products related to the building structure to ensure adequate stock levels. Perform maintenance and repairs of various types of equipment, such as laundry, kitchen, heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, water treatment plant, sewage plant, electricity generators, lights, CCTV, telephone, TV, fire and life safety equipment and systems, among others. Assist the Engineering Manager in preparing monthly maintenance status reports. Prepare a spare parts list for engineering requirements. Assist the Engineering Manager in structuring the team's workload to ensure projects are completed on time. Monitor teamwork and ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to an established standard and perform scheduled preventive maintenance. Qualifications What we are looking for... Qualification in variety of engineering/maintenance. +5 years of experience in maintenance (masonry, plumbing and/or electrical repairs, etc.). Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in hotel/tourist establishments is valuable. Positive, proactive, energetic, dynamic, empathetic attitude with the ability to work as a team and passion for service. English language skills highly valuable. You take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions. Availability and flexibility according to the hotel's needs (nights, weekends, holidays, etc.). You learn quickly and adapt to SLS’s unique culture. You are humble and open to ideas. We leave our ego at the door and help get things done.
